Teslin Lake Aug 13th - a big day!
The pace of fall migration at Teslin Lake changed dramatically on the 13th when after overnight and into-the-morning rain the sky and the bushes were suddenly full of southbound migrants. We had to delay net opening because of the rain but got going as soon as the rain stopped. The first net-round was wild and gave us roughly 100 birds! As often happens at TLBO, the pulse was short and we ended up with 169 birds banded for the day, primarily Alder Flycatchers and Yellow Warblers.
The aftermath!
