Albert Creek update - August 5th

Early August was medium busy at Albert Creek averaging 44.2 birds/day and 0.32 birds/net-hour for a total number of 221 birds banded in the first five days of the month. The Blue-headed Vireo was the highlight of the period and other first ones for the season were banded as follows: Wilson’s Warbler on the 1st, Boreal Chickadee and Varied Thrush on the 2nd, Western Tanager on the 3rd, Pine Siskin on the 4th and Savannah Sparrow on the 5th. The top six for the period was Tennessee Warbler (43), Northern Waterthrush (29), Warbling Vireo (16), Swainson’s Thrush (15), Least Flycatcher and Yellow Warbler (14), and the top five for the season thus far are Tennessee Warbler (124), Northern Waterthrush (74), Common Yellowthroat (44), Yellow-rumped Warbler (42), and American Redstart (32).
